Medication Class — Bladder Medications

Medication Class Description:

Detrol is approved for flight use following 30 days of symptom free use. This use should be reported to the FAA prior to the next FAA medical application.  VFS can assist with this process.

Ditropan XL (extended-release oxybutynin) and Ditropan (Oxybutynin) is no longer allowed for flight use.  It relieves spasm of bladder and  controls overactive bladder by reducing urinary incontinence, frequency and urgency.  The FAA reversed its previous policy approving Ditropan and Ditropan XL in April 2002.
