Medication Class — Bladder Medications

Medication Class Description:

Detrol, Enablex and Sanctura were allowed until summer 2013.  The FAA has stopped allowing these medications due to potential for sedation.  Mirabegon is currently allowed.

Ditropan XL (extended-release oxybutynin) and Ditropan (Oxybutynin) is no longer allowed for flight use.  It relieves spasm of bladder and  controls overactive bladder by reducing urinary incontinence, frequency and urgency.  The FAA reversed its previous policy approving Ditropan and Ditropan XL in April 2002.
